Instructions
Fire extinguishers require monthly visual inspections and annual professional servicing. This log documents monthly inspections. Keep this log posted near the extinguisher or in a central safety binder.
Monthly Inspection Requirements
Inspect each extinguisher monthly for:
- Location - In designated place, visible, accessible
- Pressure - Gauge in green "charged" zone
- Physical Condition - No damage, corrosion, or leaks
- Seal and Pin - Tamper seal intact, pin in place
- Instructions - Legible and facing outward
- Service Tag - Shows current annual inspection
Inspection Codes
Use these codes in the log:
- ✓ = OK/Pass
- X = Deficiency found
- R = Repaired/Corrected
- S = Sent for service
- N/A = Not applicable

Retention Requirements

- Keep annual service records for life of extinguisher
- Keep records of any incidents involving extinguisher use
- Retain logs for disposed/replaced extinguishers for 3 years
