Fire extinguishers require monthly visual inspections and annual professional servicing. This log documents monthly inspections. Keep this log posted near the extinguisher or in a central safety binder.

Monthly Inspection Requirements

Inspect each extinguisher monthly for:

  • Location - In designated place, visible, accessible
  • Pressure - Gauge in green "charged" zone
  • Physical Condition - No damage, corrosion, or leaks
  • Seal and Pin - Tamper seal intact, pin in place
  • Instructions - Legible and facing outward
  • Service Tag - Shows current annual inspection

Inspection Codes

Use these codes in the log:

  • = OK/Pass
  • X = Deficiency found
  • R = Repaired/Corrected
  • S = Sent for service
  • N/A = Not applicable
