About This Checklist
Power Take-Off (PTO) systems are one of the most dangerous components on farm equipment. PTO entanglement injuries are often fatal or result in severe amputations. This checklist helps ensure PTO systems are safe before use.
- PTO entanglement is one of the leading causes of farm fatalities
- Loose clothing, long hair, and open shoelaces are primary entanglement hazards
- Shields must be in place and in good condition at ALL times
