Water is the most critical resource on any ranch. During the hot Texas summer, maintaining clean and accessible water for your livestock becomes even more important.

Daily Checks

Every day during summer, you should:

Check water levels in all tanks. Make sure floats are functioning properly. Remove any debris or dead animals. Verify pump operation if applicable.

Weekly Maintenance

Once a week, perform these tasks:

Scrub algae from tank walls. Check for leaks around seams and fittings. Clean intake screens and filters. Test water quality with a basic kit.

Watch for these warning signs that indicate water quality issues:
