Round bales: keep people clear.

Give the loader room. A bale is feed for animals, not a place to climb or play.

Choose a safe waiting place

Before the job starts, an adult chooses a waiting area away from the loader, trailer, and bale stack. Keep children and visitors there with supervision.

For the trained adult

Use a machine and bale attachment made for the load. Check their manuals and weight limits. Carry the bale low. Keep away from overhead wires. Stop if the ground or load makes the machine unstable.

Store with care

Keep bales on a stable base. Store one layer high when possible. Keep people away from loading and stacking. Never use a stack as a playground.

Tell someone at home

Ask: Where should we wait when bales are moved? Point to a place outside the whole work area.

Try the lesson: what would you do?
