THE RANCHWELL FIELD LESSONS

Your workmate seems confused

It is hot. An adult who was working is now confused and stumbling. They are still sweating.

LOOK. THINK. CHOOSE.Try the situation

YOUR TURN

What is the safest next step?

Choose what you would do. Every choice has a reason.

TAKE THIS WITH YOU

Three habits.
A safer day.

01

Call 911.

Confusion, seizures, or passing out in the heat need emergency help.

02

Start cooling.

Move to a cool place if safe. Wet skin and clothing with cool water and use cold wet cloths.

03

Stay with them.

If they are confused or passed out, do not give food or drink. Follow the dispatcher’s instructions until help arrives.

ONE MORE SITUATION

You have called 911. Help is on the way to the ranch. What should happen while you wait?

BRING IT HOME

Make the safe choices.

Try both situations. Then share what you learned.
