Hear thunder? Stop.
Stop outdoor work. Do not wait for rain or count seconds after a flash.
AN ILLUSTRATED FIELD STORY
You are helping an adult check a fence. You hear thunder. The tools are still on the ground.
A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER
Watch the storm arrive and see the habit that matters. Then make the choice yourself.
Choose your storm shelter before starting the job.
The sky changes. So does the plan. Hear thunder? Stop the job. Leave the tools. Get to shelter right away. Go inside a sturdy enclosed building with electricity or plumbing. Or use an enclosed car or truck with a metal roof and closed windows. A tree or an open shed does not protect you. Wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder. More thunder resets the wait. Respect the weather. Look out for each other. Choose your shelter before the next job.

YOUR TURN
Choose what you would do. Every choice has a reason.
Look at this ranch. Which place protects you?
A practice drawing, not a plan for your ranch. An adult must check the actual layout and safety plan.
